Why We Focus on Serbia

Serbia’s energy sector currently relies significantly on oil supplies managed by NIS, a company with partial ownership by Russian state entities. Due to international sanctions and geopolitical developments, the energy supply landscape faces some uncertainties.

To enhance energy diversification, Serbia is developing the Serbia–Hungary Oil Pipeline, a branch connected to the Russian Druzhba (Friendship) pipeline. While this offers an additional supply route, it remains part of a complex regional energy network.
